How to use SLASH — Beginner's Guide
So you want to experience the good life without denting your wallet? No sweat.
Welcome to SLASH.
In this blog, we’ll take you through how to set up the SLASH app on your phone, and how to use it, so you can start saving ASAP.
What is SLASH?
SLASH is Sri Lanka’s first ever coupon experience app that brings you buy-1-get-1-free deals and discounts from your favorite brands.
If you’re looking to experience more of your favorite restaurants, cafes, spas, gyms, salons, hotels, resorts, villas, adventure destinations and pretty much anything in Sri Lanka worth experiencing… you’re going to love SLASH.
Let’s get started.
Step 01 - Download SLASH.
SLASH is a mobile app, so you’ll need to download it onto your phone.
Simply head on over to the App Store or Play Store and install the app.
And viola, you’re done!
Step 02 - Get registered.
Now that you’ve opened the app, you’ll be greeted with 2 options: register or sign in.
If you have an account, simply sign in.
If you don’t, here’s how to register:
- Tap on “Register”
- Enter your first name, last name, email, and mobile number.
- We’ll send an SMS containing a verification code to the mobile number you just entered. The app will automatically detect it. If it doesn’t- enter the code manually.
And you’re in. Simple as that.
Step 03 - Purchase your plan.
Once you’ve registered, you can browse through our coupons to see what SLASH has to offer (we promise you’ll be impressed).
Or if you’d like to get SLASHing right away, you can purchase our plan to make the most of SLASH.
When you’re ready to purchase your plan, you’ll be directed to a payment portal. Follow the instructions there.
When everything is in order, you will be redirected to the SLASH app itself.
(P.s. you can upgrade your plan anytime you like.)
Now this is where the fun begins!
Get to know the app.
The SLASH app has four main pages. Let’s look at what each one does.
Home page.
The home page is what you’ll see when you log in or open your app. See how much you’ve saved, how much you can save, categories and personal recommendations.
Explore page.
Don’t see something you like on the home page? No worries — the Explore page is here to save the day.
If there’s anything particular you’d like to save money on, type it into the search bar on the Explore page. If we have coupons on it, you’ll see them as results.
The Explore page is great if you have anything specific on your mind. You can search for products, services or vendors.
Favorites page.
You’ll see lots of offers and deals that you’d love to go for — but you may not have time to SLASH right now.
Every coupon you see on the Home page and Explore page has a little heart icon next to it. Tap the heart and that coupon will get saved to the Favorites page.
The next time you want to find that coupon, it’ll be waiting for you on the Favorites page.
Information page.
This is your SLASH mission control. See information about your profile, access settings and make payments.
How to redeem a SLASH coupon
Now that your SLASH account is set up, here’s how to redeem your coupon and #SaveMORE:
- Browse Slash and select a coupon that you’d like to redeem. You can add it to your favorites to easily find it later.
- Visit your vendor. Set an appointment if that’s mentioned.
- When you arrive, inform the vendor that you will be using a Slash coupon.
- The vendor will request you to show the coupon on your phone.
- Show your coupon to the vendor, who will scan the QR code.
- Congrats! You’ve Slashed your coupon.
- Don’t forget to rate your vendor.
The bottom line.
We designed SLASH to be simple. You open the app > tap on an offer that catches your eye > and redeem it.
And just like that, we make saving money simple.
